- Use a round foam wreath (spray paint in a coordinating color if you're going to put it on a glass door since you will see the back) and pre-made bows that are made of curling ribbon.
- Staple on the curling ribbon bows by layering 2 at a time. So, staple one to the wreath and then put another top of it - just rotate it a bit so they criss-cross. This wreath used 7 packs of three ribbons, but I'm not sure of the wreath size (maybe 14" or so).
- The staples won't really hold it so you're going to have to add a bit of hot glue with a glue gun.
- Hang with a ribbon and embellish for the season. You could add a little Happy Birthday tag, a reindeer for Christmas, Easter eggs, glittered hearts... anything!

Curly Ribbon Wreath
Crazy cute and super easy to make! This came from Embellished Bayou and I think it's one of the most clever ideas I've seen in awhile!

Lighting
It's usually pretty easy to change the lighting in your home but the result can be radical. I added an Ikea Maskros (see post one here and post two here) to my dining room and it's truly a WOW impact. Not all lighting has to be that dramatic, but I also changed the shades on lamps in another room and the color alone took years off the room. The first shades were brown with yellow inside, the second set was just bright white which made the whole room brighter, cleaner.

My next project: Paint my interior doors jet black!
This is a great way to make any place look instantly more chic. Paint the doors black!!! A black front door always looks sharp, but I'm talking about closets, bathrooms, bedrooms and the back of your front door. I'm researching the paint (oil vs. latex, etc) and I'm going to post the before and after pictures when I'm done.... My front foyer has a main door with side light panels, two closet doors and the door to the lower level. I can't wait to start! But as far as I can tell, this works when you:
- Leave the trim around the doors white
- Use a quality high gloss paint
- The surrounding walls are pale
