At the door and a big amount of magical

Doors that are flooded with light are a big amount of magical.  I want a fabulous door.  Where should I start?  Maybe not Home Depot.

Spring is in the wool

I made these flowers and I love the way they came out!  I put them in moss and a little dirt.

Pillows

It's not hard to find pillows, but it can be tricky finding really fabulous pillows.  Prices can range from outrageous and we-need-to-sell-the-kids to not so bad.  I have a theory that I could pick up a few inexpensive pillows at Marshalls or TJ Maxx and dress them up with trim or pompoms (a quick and thrifty DIY project) but it hasn't exactly happened yet.  But here's some great inspiration for that project.

A map as a backsplash

Isn't this the most clever idea for a backsplash?  You can read about it here.

Pictures of the IKEA PS Maskros Light

I am trying to decide what color to paint my dining room since I hung the IKEA Maskros light.  Right now I have a leftover circa 1989 teal green stripe (which coordinated with the mauve and teal wallpaper that was in the kitchen).  I have no doubt that it was smashing.... call-your-neighbor-over-to-see-fabulous.... when the previous owners hung it on the walls.  But it's time to go... and based on these photos, pale is the way to go.  Check it out in bedrooms, dining rooms, living rooms and your basic party room:

New twist on wall arrangements

Well, I finally got rid of the monster desk in the family room.  It was enormous and there was a giant cabinet sitting on top.... Long story short, it took up the whole wall.  Now I have a campaign style desk (which I love *squeal*) and a big blank wall.  Here are my latest ideas to fill the space:

Clocks - and these are great!  George Nelson

Fun - but what is it?  A wild boar?  Skona Hem

Similar frames filled with wallpaper.  Harlequin UK

Note the black painted frame behind everything!  unknown

Love the Parcheesi board!  Apartment Therapy

A wall of mirrors.  I could do this now, my house is like Versailles.  Apartment Therapy

I love silhouettes, especially in the kitchen!  Pamplemousse

I've been crazy about the antler trend!  Skona Hem

I wouldn't really do this... but... wow!  Homes Result

I like the combination of framed work and 3 dimensional objects.  Frank Roop
