I hear you singin' in the wire

I'm running out of places to put cool lighting.  But I could add birdcages.

Lighting

It's usually pretty easy to change the lighting in your home but the result can be radical.  I added an Ikea Maskros (see post one here and post two here) to my dining room and it's truly a WOW impact.  Not all lighting has to be that dramatic, but I also changed the shades on lamps in another room and the color alone took years off the room.  The first shades were brown with yellow inside, the second set was just bright white which made the whole room brighter, cleaner.

Pictures of the IKEA PS Maskros Light

I am trying to decide what color to paint my dining room since I hung the IKEA Maskros light.  Right now I have a leftover circa 1989 teal green stripe (which coordinated with the mauve and teal wallpaper that was in the kitchen).  I have no doubt that it was smashing.... call-your-neighbor-over-to-see-fabulous.... when the previous owners hung it on the walls.  But it's time to go... and based on these photos, pale is the way to go.  Check it out in bedrooms, dining rooms, living rooms and your basic party room:
